Nolbu: This is my money and treasures.

But, I need more money.

Nolbu's Wife : Me, too. We are rich.

But, We are not happy.

Nolbu : Not happy? I don't care.

 

배경음악 ( 아이들이 배고파서 밥 달라는 소리)

Heungbu 's Wife: Oh, My son, my daughter.

They are crying.

They are hungry. I'm sad.

Heungbu : Don't worry. We have brother Nolbu

He has much money and beef.

Heungbu 's Wife: You think so ?

Nolbu : What?

What are you saying?

I have much money and beef?

I have No money, I have No beef.

 

Heungbu : Brother!

My son and daughter are crying.

They are hungry.

Give me something to eat.

Nolbu : What are you saying?

You should't call me brother.

Heungbu & Wife : We are hungry, my son and daughter are hungry.

Nolbu : Shut your mouth.

Heungbu : I'm sure... sure.

 

 

제 2 장면 : 흥부가 제비 다리를 고쳐주는 장면

 

Snake : It looks delicious, I will eat you

Swallow : Help me ! Help me! A snake is attacking me! Ouch!

Heungbu : No! Go away! Go away!

Fairy1 : A little seed will become a giant gourd in a very short time.

Heungbu : Giant gourd!

Fairy2 : You will get gold and much money.

Heungbu 's Wife: Gold, money?

Fairy1 : You will be rich. I celerbrate with richness.

Heungbu : I don't understand.

Heungbu 's Wife : That's true?

Fairy 1 : Of course.

Heungbu & Wife : Wonderful!

Fairy 2 : Listen to me.

Fairy1 : I will give you good news.

Heungbu & Wife : What? good news?

Fairy 1 : Your brother's head will be changed.

Nolbu 's Wife : Yes, And he became rich for doing that.

Nolbu : It's a swallow! Stop! Fie!

Swallow : Ouch! help me!

Nolbu : Poor swallow, you hurt your leg.

Ogre : He he he he he!

Nolbu : What is this? snake! No no no ! go away, go away!

I have a headache.

Ogre1 : Let me see.

Ogre2 : You are foolish.

Ogre1 : You are stupid.

Ogre1 : Bad Nolbu! We are here to take your things away! Ha! Ha!

제6장면 : 놀부가 새 인간으로 거듭나는 장면

 

Fairy1 : Poor Nolbu! foolish Nolbu! I will make you a new man.

Fairy2 : I will give you a powerful energy.

Nolbu : (새사람으로 변하여 깨어남)

Oh, wonderful!

Nolbu 's Wife: Oh, delight!

Nolbu : My head and mind are very light.

Nolbu 's Wife : Me, too.

Nolbu : Oh, I forgot where my younger brother and his family are.

Hey! Hey! Hey!

My younger brother Heungbu! Where are you?

Heungbu : Brother.

Nolbu 's Wife : How are you doing?

Nolbu : You told me that you need money and beef

Nolbu & Wife : I will give you things that you need.

Heungbu : Wonderful!

Heungbu : My brother is changed.

Nolbu : You're welcome.

Heungbu : Nolbu is changed.

Heungbu'Wife : Nolbu became a new man. Nolbu's family is wonderful!

[Hungbu and Nolbu]

 

Narration : A long time ago, in a village in Korea, there lived a mean boy called Nolbu. Everybody in the village hated him. Nolbu had a younger brother called Hungbu. While Nolbu was mean, Hungbu was very goodhearted. As the years passed, the two brothers grew up and got married. Then their parents passed away. Nolbu did not seem so sad. Their parents were rich. He took all of his father's inheritance for himself instead of sharing it with Hungbu. "Get out of my house at once." He said to Hungbu. Finally, for no reason at all, Nolbu kicked poor Hungbu and his family out of the house.

Song: one step two step three step hungry

four step five step six step hungry

seven step eight step nine step hungry

ten step I'm so hungry

 

(Hungbu's family come on the stage)

 

Hungbu's child 1 : Mom, I'm so hungry. I want some food.

Hungbu's child 2 : Yes, I want rice, Bulgogi and fried chicken.

Hungbu's child3 : I could eat anything. I could eat a horse. Mommy, we're so hungry.

Hungbu's wife : Oh, I'm sorry, my children. We have nothing to eat.

Hungbu : Let's go and see my brother, Nolbu.

Hungbu's child 1,2,3: Uncle Nolbu? No, we won't go there!

Hungbu: But we are so hungry, aren't we?

Hungbu's child 1,2,3: All right. Let's go.

 

▶▶Scene 2: Nolbu's house

 

(Hungbu's family arrive Nolbu's house. )

 

Nolbu: I'm hungry. Is breakfast ready yet?

Nolbu's wife: Yes, it's ready. (밥상을 들고 들어온다.) Here. Help your self.

Hungbu: Oh, my brother, Nolbu. How are you?

Hungbu's family: How are you, Nolbu?

Nolbu: What is it? It's early in the morning. Why are you here?

Hungbu:Please, spare us some food. We are so hungry.

Hungbu's child 1,2,3: (catch Nolbu's body) Please give us some food, uncle. Please! We're so hungry...

Nolbu: (Pushes them) Don't touch me.

Nolbu's wife : (Showing spatula with rice) Do you like rice?

Hungbu : Yes! Yes! I like rice.

Nolbu's wife : (Hitting Hungbu's cheek with a spatula) Here!

Hungbu : (피하며)Oh, no!

(놀부가 대신 맞는다.)

Nolbu : (touch his face) Uh~

Nolbu's wife : (going to Nolbu) oops! Are you O.K? I'm sorry.

Nolbu : That's O.K. Uh~

Hungbu: (Taking rice from Nolbu's face) Um~. It tastes good. Thank you. Very delicious! Give me more(?), please.

Nolbu's wife: (A spatula wash and hitting Hungbu's hip)

Get out of here! Get away!!

Hungbu's wife: Let's go home, children.

 

 

▶▶Scene 3 : Hungbu's house

 

Narration : Spring came. Hungbu's family had somehow managed to make it through the winter. one day, a swallow came to Hungbu's house.

 

(음악 : 4박자(sung by 송대관)

제비가 춤을 추면서 들어오다가 제풀에 넘어져 다리를 다친다. A swallow appears with a broken leg. )

 

Hungbu's child 1: Look! The little bird has fallen!

Hungbu's child 2: Oh, poor swallow!

Hungbu's child 3: He has broken hiss leg.

Swallow : Uh~ Help me, please. I can't walk. I can't fly...

Hungbu's chilid 1, 2, 3: Mom, Daddy! Help him.

Hungbu: What happened? (looking a swallow)Let's put on a Daeil band.

Hungbu's wife: Are you all right, poor swallow?

Swallow: (He can fly perfect) Yes, I'm O.K. Thank you, everyone.

Oh! Wait a minute... I'll give present for you. (주머니를 뒤적거리다 빗을 꺼내든다.) Sorry! (다시 뒤적거리다가 박씨를 꺼내든다.) It's just a tiny gourd seed. But, it'll give you fortune and happiness. I'd better go back to my friends now. Take care, see you next time.

Hungbu's family: (Shake their hands)Take care, swallow.

 

▶▶Scene 4: Hungbu's house

 

Narration : Hungbu and his family plant the gourd seed carefully beside their house. Soon, autumn came again. on top of Hungbu's roof, giant gourd hung in a cluster from a single vine.

 

Hungbu's child 1, 2, 3: What's this?

Hungbu: It's such a large gourd.

Hungbu's wife: I can make a bowl out of it.

Hungbu's child 1, 2, 3: Isn't it too big for a bowl? Can we eat them?

Hungbu : Let's cut it together.

 

Hungbu's family: (chant)

Cut Cut Cut it up slowly slowly

(Effent sound : Boom)

They cut gourd. All sorts of jewelry, foods, cloths spilled out from the gourd.)

 

Hungbu's child 1, 2, 3: Wow! Amazing!

Hungbu: Look at all this treasures! Oh, what a wonderful car!

Hungbu's wife: Look at a kimchi refrigerator!

Hunbu's child 1: Look! Bicycle!

Hungbu's child 2: A lot of Money!

Hungbu's family all: We are rich now!

(A monster tumbled out)

All family :(frightened)Uh! That's monster!

Monster : I'm a judge! Who are you? Where am I?

Hungbu : I'm Hungbu. This is my house.

Monster : (looking at his note)Oh! It's not you. I'm sorry. I'm looking for Byun hak do. Don't worry.(going out)

All family : Huu...

Monster : (coming back) Have you seen this faces? (unrolling pictures)

All family : (loud voice) No!

( monster 반대로 돌아서며 angel로 변신한다.)

Angel : Hi! Nice to see you. I'm an angel. I came to give you gifts because you're kind and goodhearted. What gift do you want?

Hungbu : Well..(Looking at his family) What do you want?

All family : New house!

Angel : Choose! The one of them is new house.

All family : No.3!!

Angel : That's too bad. It's a car.

Hungbu : Give me another chance, please!

Angel : Um..yes!

All family : Yeah! Thanks. Number 5!

Angel : Oh, bingo! Congratulation!!

All family : Wow! (everyone dancing)

Angel : You are rich!

All family : We are rich!!

 

▶▶Scene 5: Nolbu's house

(Nolbu goes into the house and cries loudly)

 

Nolbu's wife : What happened? Are you sick?

Nolbu : (crying)Hungbu is to be rich man! He is welthier than us.

Nolbu's wife : What? No kidding!!

Nolbu : It's true. I saw his new house, his new car and so on.

Nolbu's wife : How did he become so rich?

(Nolbu tells Hungbu's story to her.)

Nolbu's wife : Um. I see...(Looking for a swallow)

(음악을 틀며 제비에게 다가간다.)

Nolbu wife : Hey, Handsome bird. Shall we dance?

Swallow : Me? Oh, Sure!

(춤을 추다가 Nolbu's wife가 Swallow를 때려 목을 다치게 한다.)

Nolbu's wife : Honey! I break his neck.

Sallow: Ouch, Ahh--!

Nolbu : Oh, poor swallow! You hurt your neck. We'll put on a banchango. You'll be okay Now.

Swallow: I'm not O.K. It hurts so much.

Nolbu: Go now! Bring us a big gourd, swallow.

Swallow: Sure.(He gives us a big gourd directly)

Nolbu: Wow! It's a big gourd.

Nolbu's wife: Hurry up! Let's cut it quickly.

 

Nolbu's family:(chant together)

Gourd gourd big lucky gourd

Gold coins fine clothes precious jewels.

Bring us things to make us rich

(Sound Effect : Boom)

(A monster appears on the stage very angry.)

 

Nolbu's family: (surprisingly) Monster?

Monster: (Points Nolbu's wife) Are you Nolbu, right?

Nolbu's wife: No, I'm not.

Monster:(Catches the Nolbu) You are so greedy. You broke the swallow's neck. I will punish you!

(A monster hits Nolbu)

Nolbu: Oh, no! Forgive me, please.

Monster : (Destroying Nolbu's house and all of his belongings) I'm a judge!! You are a bad man. I come to punish you. Be a good man!!

(When Hungbu and his family come up to see what happened. Nolbu and his wife are lying on the ground. Completely out of their senses.)

Hungbu: (splashing some water on Nolbu's face) What happened, my brother?

All family : Get up!

Nolbu: Um... They may died. Let's digging the ground.

Hungbu : Are you O.K.?

All family : Are you O.K.?

Nolbu : I was wrong. Forgive me, please.

(He looks at Hungbu with tears)

Hunbu: Let's go to my hoouse and live with us.

Hungbu's wife: Yes, you can live with us.

Hungbu's children 1.2.3 : Welcome!

Nolbu's family: Thank you so much! you're goodhearted!

Hungbu : Thank you? no~! Now you are our servants!

Nolbu's family : What? Pardon?

All family : Servants!!

Hungbu : No work, no pays. O.K.? You are mean and ugly. So you can't take a job!! Thank us!!

All family : Be good men!!

Nolbu's family : (주저 앉으며)Oh my god!!!

(모두 동작을 멈춘다.)

Narration : What do you think would have happened after this? Hungbu became richier through stock investment. on the other hand Nolbu didn't make much money. So, Nolbu's wife became a tour guide. Its name was 'Don't ask tour guide(묻지마 관광)' and she never came back home.
